Vegetable Rava Upma Recipe Ingredients
- 1 Cup Semolina/ Sooji / Rava
- 1 medium sized Onion, finely chopped
- 1 medium sized Tomato
- 4-5 Green chillies, finely chopped
- 10-12 Curry leaves
- 1 tablespoon Carrot, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon Green peas
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped coriander leaves
- 1 tablespoon peanuts
- 1 teaspoon Chana dal / Split Bengal Gram
- 1 teaspoon Urad dal / Split Black Gram
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds / jeera
- 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds / Mohari
- A pinch Asafoetida
- 1-2 teaspoon Sugar
- 2 Tablespoon oil
- Salt to taste
Vegetable Rava Upma Recipe Preparation
Heat a pan/kadai, add 1 cup of semolina and roast it continuously on low flame till it get fragrant and crispy. Now switch off the flame and take rava in a plate.
Now Heat the oil in the same pan, add mustard seeds and cumin seeds let them crackle.
Then add some Peanuts, Urad dal and Chana dal. Fry them till our dals and peanuts get little brown colour.
Now add green chillies, curry leaves and asafoetida, stir for a second then immediately add chopped vegetables (Carrot and Green peas), cover a lid and cook for 1 to 2 minutes.
Add chopped onion and saute the onions till they become translucent.
Now add finely chopped tomato, fry them till they get soft.
Add 2 to 2.5 cup of hot water along with salt and 1-2 teaspoon of sugar to this mixture.
Once the water started to boiling then add the rava.
Once you added rava, You need to stir the mixture immediately. So that there will not be any lumps.
Cover a lid and allow rava upma to steam for 1 to 2 minutes on the low flame.
Its time to add 1 tablespoon finely chopped coriander leaves.
We are almost done!! Mix Rava Upma very well and make sure that it is properly cooked.
