Veg Fried Rice Recipe

Veg fried rice is popular recipe originated in China, which is cooked with steamed rice and combination of vegetables. But it was adopted in India from long while and easily available in most of the restaurants and road side Chinese stalls also. So today we are going to cook Veg fried rice recipe with step by step photos and description.

Veg Fried Rice Recipe Ingredients

  • 2 cups of long grained Rice or Basmati rice
  • 4-5 cups Water
  • 3-4 drops of Oil or Ghee
  • 1/4 cup Cabbage chopped
  • 1/4 cup French Beans, chopped
  • 1/4 cup Green Capsicum, chopped
  • 1/4 cup carrot, chopped
  • 1/4 cup Spring Onion
  • 1/4 cup Green peas
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Red chilli sauce
  • 2-3 teaspoon Dark Soya sauce
  • 2 teaspoon Black paper powder
  • 1 teaspoon Vinegar
  • 3-4 tablespoon oil
  • Salt

Veg Fried Rice Recipe Preparation

Wash 2 cups of Basmati rice in water thoroughly and soak it for 30 minutes, then drain it.

Boil the rice along with 5 cups of water, add 1 teaspoon of salt and few drops of oil.

Do not boil the rice completely. Cook the rice on low flame without covering a lid till it cooked around 90% or just cooked.

Once the rice cooked then remove access of water by colander and keep aside.

Fried Rice is generally cooked in special pan / Kadai called as wok in restaurants, But at home we don't this kind of pan, so you use our regular Pan instead of.

Now take a pan and heat oil and add finely chopped ginger and garlic, fry them for few seconds.

Then add 1/4 cup of finely chopped cabbage, French beans, green capsicum, carrot and green peas.

Saute all vegetables on high flame for 2-3 minutes. Saute continuously and make sure that vegetables are not over cooked, they should be slightly crispy but not soft.

Then add 1/4 cup of spring onion and toss it.

Once veggies almost cooked then add black paper powder and salt then mix it very well.

Add red chilli sauce, dark soya sauce and stir all the ingredients carefully.

Now its time to add our cooked basmati rice and vinegar.

Toss the mixture on high flame. So that all the veggies and sauces will be mix uniformly with rice.

Cook the mixture for 2-3 minutes and our Veg fried rice is almost ready to serve.
