Aloo Paratha Recipe Ingredients
- Wheat dough
- 2 cups wheat flour/atta
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoon oil or ghee
- Water as required
- Aloo Stuffing
- 4-5 medium size potatoes, boiled and peeled
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds or powder
- 3-4 green chillies, finely chopped
- 7-8 garlic cloves
- 1/2 inch ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 2-3 teaspoon coriander leaves
Aloo Paratha Preparation
Take 2 cups of whole wheat flour, add 1/2 teaspoon salt , 2 tablespoon of Ghee or oil in a bowl and mix it properly.
Sift together the flour and oil / ghee in a bowl. Rub the oil into the flour mixture using your finger tips and gradually add the water to knead into a firm dough. Once the dough is ready make it rest for 10 to 15 minutes. Meanwhile we will prepare aloo paratha stuffing.
Now lets start to make Aloo Paratha stuffing, Peel and mash the potatoes in a bowl. Now add finely chopped green chillies,turmeric powder, red chilli powder, ginger + garlic + cumin seeds paste and salt. Mix it properly so that it get uniform texture.
Add finely chopped fresh coriander and mix it well.
Take two balls from the dough. Roll the balls up to 3-inch diameter circle using rolling pin. Place the aloo paratha stuffing in the center. Put another rolled dough and press the edges, so that it will get sealed properly.
Sprinkle some flour and roll each stuffed paratha about 8 to 10 inches in diameter.
Heat a tava/pan and place the first rolled paratha on it. Cook for few seconds and flip it to other side.
Apply some ghee on each side of paratha, Flip and continue to cook until both the sides become browned. Our first Aloo Paratha is ready now :) Repeat the same process for remaining parathas.
Serve hot and yummy parathas with tomato sauce or pickle.
